Shanghai Pentagonal Mart【World Agri-trade Center】

Shanghai Pentagonal Mart 【World Agri-trade Center】, funded and established by Shanghai Megamall Establish Co., Ltd., has been strongly supported and fully affirmed by the related institutes including the United Nations, Ministry of Agriculture of the P.R.C., Ministry of Commerce of the P.R.C. and Shanghai Customs District, as well as Shanghai government and local governments at all levels. 

The total land area of the project will be 170ha. and the gross building area will be 1.16 million m2. The project will be completed in two phases which are specified as follows: 

The land area of phase 1 will be 28ha. and the building area will be 480,000m2, mainly used for domestic and foreign agriculture-related products exhibition, business affairs, governmental service and casual dining packages. It will be completed at the end of 2009. 

The land area of phase 2 will be 142ha. and the building area will be 680,000 m2 (not including the building area of the reserved land), mainly used for the integrated package service facilities including the international exhibitions, logistics/warehouse, business service package, technology-based theme park and development-reserved land. It will be gradually put into operation by districts from 2012.

The second China International Merchandizing Fair was held in Shanghai Mart. Boxilai, the commerce minister attended the opening ceremony and declared the commencement of the Fair. Later, Bo and his entourage paid a visit to the exhibition hall of SPM.
